Trick or Treating in Action

Ok, so this is Lucy trick or treating. I know two videos is over kill, but you can see the difference between the first house and the last in these videos. Her little voice is so cute! I'm so glad we got this on film, she won't be two forever.

Happy and You Know It!

I know this has nothing to do with Halloween, and it is in the middle of my Halloween posts, but this was the video I was uploading while I put together the last post, and now I'm waiting for the Halloween videos to upload. Anyway, this is what Lucy does while I am doing my hair everyday. She love the sound she can make in an empty tub, and she loves this song. Enjoy.

Trick or Treating 2008

Lucy didn't really know what was going on at all, but she was really excited about whatever it was we were getting all worked up about. I didn't get a great picture of her costume, but you can tell who she is. I could have painted her nose, but I decided it wasn't worth it, she would have that little black nose smeared so fast all over her face, gloves, dress, you name it. But Lucy thought she was "so pretty" as Minnie. Here she is getting ready to push the door bell at one of the first houses.

We spent Halloween up in Highlands Ranch so that we could meet Jason's girlfriend Katie. She was such a sweet girl, and Lucy just loved her. When Dave put on his terrifying costume, Lucy turned and ran straight to Katie with her arms up saying "Hold you!" Jason and Katie came with us trick or treating and had a lot of fun taking the kids from door to door.

As the night went on, Lucy was loving trick or treating. She would get so excited for each house. I have a couple videos of her at the doors of a couple of houses, because you have to hear her little voice as she says "trick or treat" to really understand what I am talking about. I'll get those up as soon as I can.

Before we went in, we hurried and took a couple family pictures. Here is one of Shawn, Lucy and I, and one of Shawn's brother Dave, his wife Adriana, and their little Lobster Matthew. We had so much fun trick or treating with them, and we loved that all it took was 15 houses in the cul-de-sac across the street. The kids got hooked up too because there were NO trick or treaters. I don't know if the demographics have changed in Highlands Ranch, or if people are too paranoid these days, but we had the doorbell ring a total of like 5 times all night. So sad.

But Lucy and Matthew loved that, more candy for them! And as you can see, they really loved it!

Lucy's Funny Phrases

So lately Lucy has really picked up this whole talking thing. I mean she has been a talker from day one, but now she will say anything you tell her to, and she almost says everything right. She is so easy to understand and people are always telling me that she has such a big vocabulary for her age. Anyway, I just wanted to post a few of her funny sayings so that I can always remember them. Most of these are little things that she says a lot that really aren't too funny, or maybe they are but I just hear them so much I think they are just everyday Lucy.

1- Lucy is two now, and since she was about 7 months old she has called her milk "Da." She used to call her bottles "dadole." As we took her off the bottle, my saving grace was chocolate milk. Well Lucy couldn't say chocolate milk, so she just called it "Da." Well within a few months she learned how to say chocolate and milk, but she still calls her daily chocolate milk "da." Even today the first thing she asks for every morning is "da." I can make her do a chocolate milk dance, which she basically just says "chocolate nilks" over and over again while doing a little chicken dance, and it is so cute. But when she is done instead of asking for her "chocolate nilks" she asks for "da." I don't know when this one will change.

2- Lucy always says "ready, go, set!"

3-Whenever Lucy wants something, she'll ask us for it. I always repeat back to her what she has said to make sure that I understand her. Lately after I repeat it back Lucy answers "Yeah, ok!" She says it in a way that sounds like "Yeah, good idea guys!" It is the funniest thing.

4- Lucy is really really into pretending that she is someone else right now. For Halloween she was Minnie Mouse, and from the first day we dressed her up she started making sure that we refured to her as Minnie Mouse. I'd say "Hi Lucy!" and she would say "No, Minnie Mouse." while pointing to herself. But a few days later she decided that she wasn't Minnie Mouse anymore, she was Spongebob Squarepants. That one is her favorite right now, but she is also known as Puppy, Kitty, and Ghost.

That will do it for today, now that my pictures are all uploaded, I'll get to the fun stuff.
