Blowing Bubbles

Lucy's favorite thing to do with "Dinosar" these days is blowing bubbles. I'd try to explain more about it, but a picture is worth a thousand words, and a video is worth a million!

"Hi Dinosar"

This is "Dinosar".

He is Lucy's new best friend. I wouldn't call him an imaginary friend, because he is actually real. But Lucy honestly thinks he is alive. Everything "Dinosar" does is so funny. She won't do anything if "Dinosar" can't watch or help. He is the first thing she is concerned with in the morning, as you can see. She has conversations with him, which are always entertaining. I will say that he was an amazing aid in the toilet training department. Because "Dinosar" wanted to see, she would do it. So even though half the day I can't have my right arm, and my hand has never gotten so many hugs and kisses, I think "Dinosar" is a good addition to the family. I just hope he goes away in a few months, honestly how long can we keep this up?

What are you laughing at Lucy?

Just another funny little thing Lucy said. One of her favorite things (most days) is getting to play with Shawn when he gets home from work. Last night after dinner Shawn was teaching Lucy how to pull funny faces. She is really cute when she tries to pull them, so I'll get some pictures up here in the next day or two when it isn't so late. Anyway after showing her several faces, which she would mimic, Shawn pulled out his stretchy face. Lucy started laughing so hard, you know the laugh, when little kids get rolling uncontrollably. Her little laugh was so cute! Finally Shawn asks her "Lucy, what are you laughing at?" To which Lucy answered "Daddy's face."

She did something today that was ADORABLE! She woke up from her nap a little earlier than I wanted her to. She only slept for one hour, and I was trying to get a quick cat nap in there which never happened. Anyway, I had just laid down when I heard her talking. So after laying there for five minutes I decided I better be a good mom and go get her up. I pulled her out of her crib to her applauding herself for taking a "nice nice nap", and let her play in her room. When I saw she was more than happy playing by herself, I went and laid back down.

A few minutes later I heard a rattling sound and opened my eyes to Lucy's eyes looking directly into mine. Then she handed me a little tea pot she has with a fake hot dog sticking out of the top and said "Hereyougo mommy! Lucy made hot dog!" I had to pick her up and squeeze her!

The little things

Lucy is really starting to talk, I mean a lot! Yesterday she finally had a good conversation on the phone with her Uncle Jason. But I wanted to write down a few of the funny things that she says these days so that I don't forget them. Most of them are way cuter and a lot funnier if you hear them from her, but this is one of those things more for me than you.

This morning I got on the computer while Lucy wasn't looking. When she couldn't find me she started walking around saying "Where did Mommy go? I don't know. Mommy! Mommy hey...Mommy pssst!" The pssst is what got me. She says all the others all the time, but where did the pssst come from?

Yesterday Lucy would not take a nap, making her not on my favorite person since I really wanted to take one. So I put her in her bed and made her cry. After a while she started yelling through her sobs "Mommy open door! Mommy hold you!" Over and over again. Even though I was really mad that she wouldn't go to sleep, that was one of those things that melts your heart and you can't help but kind of laugh because it's so cute.

I'll stop there for today, but I might start writing down little things like this more now that Lucy is talking.
