On Sunday March 16, Shawn told me we were going to California. On Wednesday, 3 days later we arrived in Las Vegas. That's the most spontaneous trip I've taken in a long time. Lucy LOVED Vegas. She was so excited! We stayed up walking the strip until after 10:30 (11:30) her time, and then put her to bed around 11:30. She didn't cry ever, she handled the driving beautifully, and we couldn't stop laughing at her favorite parts of the strip. She loved the water (fountains, ponds, waterfalls, anything!), the escalators, and the balls that sit on top of the fence posts along the sidewalk at Ceasers Palace. Oh, and the slot machines were a huge hit too, but she got in trouble for sitting at them. I was like honestly, do you think I don't know that it is illegal for her to gamble? Do you think that I'm going to pay for my baby to play a game of slots? If you don't want kids drawn to them, don't make them so bright and exciting!
Another thing that Lucy loved, probably her favorite, was the helicopters that fly over the strip. Every single one was just as exciting as the last, and she'd let out the highest ear piercing squeel. Here is a video of her watching fountains in front of the MGM where the big Lion is and looking for a helicopter.
This is just another video of her, with the balls. She cracked me up! She was so over stimulated!
