October

Ok, I know I haven't posted in FOREVER. I've really fallen behind, and I'm always giving excuses, but honestly, who wants to hear them? So here is what I missed in October.

Fall came and went, but Lucy and Jack loved every minute of it. These pictures were taken the morning of Lucy's birthday party when Shawn went out to rake the leaves that COVERED our front yard. This was at our rental house, and I'm not going to lie, I'm kinda going to miss those big trees because of moments like this.

Lucy could not have been more excited to jump in. Jack on the other hand took a minute to warm up to these poky little things.

But after watching Lucy for a second, he warmed up to the leaves. Then the trick was trying not to let him eat them.

We bought our first house in October, and quickly realized after putting our offer in that if accepted, we'd be moving on Halloween. So we decided to take Lucy to a pumpkin field to pick out a pumpkin, since we might not get to do much else. Our realtor gave us a free pass to one, so we went to check it out. I was a little disappointed because it wasn't a real pumpkin field. They just dumped the pumpkins on a field. They did have a few other activities, nothing too fancy, but Lucy LOVED the potato sack slide. We petted goats and bunnies and other farm animals, went on the hayride (a tractor pulling a trailer with hay bails on it, which drove through the field that we were already standing in; but the tractor did have awesome bumper stickers), but Lucy kept asking to go back to the potato sack slide.

Then we had Lucy's birthday party. It was my first attempt at a party, and MAN they are a ton of work. Lucy could not have been more excited about her "Puppy Party." They decorated cookies that were shaped like doggie bones, wore puppy ears and collars, played a "Feed the Puppy" game (threw bone shaped bean bags through a dog on a poster board with a cut out mouth), and of course, presents and cake.

Getting ready to open presents.

And these pictures are just so typical of a 3 year old opening her presents and making sure that she gets to do it entirely by herself. Poor London (the little blond girl who is a heart melter!) just wanted to help.

And just because this is an adorable picture of my little man and his Grandma Hammond.

Think she was excited about the cake?

Dig in!

I can't believe my little girl is 3! She is such a fun little girl and she is cracking me up everyday with the things that she dreams up. She had a great party, and we are so happy that we were able to have so many friends share it with us. Thanks for all your help guys!

And the other big event of October... moving. Can I just say I HATE MOVING!!! I'm hoping not to have to do it again for a while. The hardest part is keeping kids happy when you are trying to pack up all their stuff. So I had to improvise. Here I built a tent for the kids out of boxes and blankets. They loved it.
