Highlights from Week 2

Jack is 2 weeks old in these pictures. Tomorrow he will actually be three weeks old, but I thought I'd post some highlights from his second week with us. It's been so fun, and exhausting. By this time with Lucy, she had her nights and days all straightened out, can't say the same for this little guy. Sure Lucy woke up several times to eat, but she'd always go right back down. This week with Jack has consisted of nights with several, several feedings, and a few nights when he decided he wanted to be wide awake until 4:30. I lasted with him until 3:30 on this particular night, then when I was having a hard time walking without falling over I decided that it was Shawn's turn. I don't think I've ever fallen asleep so fast after laying down in all my life.
We also had Jack's two week check up, where he weighed in at 8 pounds 14 ounces! He's a big boy! Look at him trying to look all innocent like he sleeps all the time.

More Lucy and Jack bonding time. Lucy wanted to "cuddle" with Jack while watching morning cartoons and drinking her chocolate milk on this particular morning.

I'm so glad that I caught this face on camera, this is the face that he pulls that totally makes him look like a little bruiser. He is so funny! Such a boy too, he makes this face and all he does is grunts and groans. I took a video clip of his sounds that is at the bottom of this post so everyone can see what I mean when I say "all boy".

Jack had his first trip outside this week since it was close to 70 degrees and Lucy needed some outside time. He slept right through it, which was nice, I was concerned about the wind, but he didn't mind at all.

And yes, Lucy is nursing her baby. Apparently she watches me a little more closely than I realized. One day she walked out with her doll and said "I seeding my baby, she so so hungry!" Seeding of course being feeding, but Lucy can't say her f's yet. The blanket to cover up is a nice touch. What is worse is that after this she realized that she couldn't actually feed the baby, and so she waited until I was nursing Jack and walked over and shoved her baby under there with him and told me to open up so that I could feed her baby too. Gotta love two year olds!

And finally, here are the sounds that my little guy makes all the time. This is actually as fussy as he gets, and it's kind of mean of me to grab the camera and film his grunts and groans instead of pick him up and take care of him, but I've been wanting to catch these sounds for a few weeks now. There are a few other groans that that he makes that are not on this video that I hope I can catch, but they are going to be hard ones. I love the newborn sounds, they are so little and cute, except this is what he sounds like all night long.

Oh he is so sweet, I love those sounds. I love seeing Lucy with him. I remember Hayleigh doing the same thing. Trying to nurse her baby. But I will say she Never asked me to nurse her baby for her. That was funny

Chantell, that is sooo cute! I love hearing those baby grunts it makes me want a baby so bad. Your lucky grunting is much better than screaming.

Hey... congrats on #2. Our younger boy is also named Jack (Jackson)... it's a good name. My wife wouldn't let me name him Jack Bauer Westover, so it was the next best thing I think. Again, congrats!

I think it took me several weeks before I was back to blogging etc. You are bouncing back like it was nothing. So jealous! Lucy is such a mother. Wow, I can't believe how much she has grown up. Your little guy is so cute! He reminds me of our little one quite a bit! They make the same little grunting sounds and everything! Must be a boy thing, right?! I agree having a second one is harder than the first, but we're finally starting to adjust...what about you? Good luck with everything!

Congrats on the little boy. I had no idea that you were even expecting. He's beautiful. I can't believe how big Lucy has gotten. Are you enjoying Colorado? I have a good friend named Angie that lives in Monument. I'm not sure how close that is to you. As far as Miami goes... it was an awesome trip and you should go visit your brother-in-law there. Mi sister lives in a place called Boca Raton, about an hour north of Miami. I'm not sure the name of her bishop. Hope all is going well. Glad you found me.
