Lucy's New Words

Lucy has handled the transition to big sister amazingly! We were a little worried about her, since she is such a mama's girl, I wasn't sure how she would handle sharing me with someone else. Especially since just before Jack was born Lucy got the phrase "No it's my mommy!" down with her friends. We are happy to report however that she has really stepped up to the challenge. Some kids get really naughty when a sibling enters the family, and while it's only been a month, so we are not entirely in the clear with that, Lucy isn't one of those kids. Instead, she tries to out shine Jack. Lately she has really over compensated on her cuteness, and she lays her charm on thicker than I ever thought a little kid could. She must really be thinking hard all the time on ways to be really cute, because while her cuteness has increased, so has her vocabulary. So here are some funny phrases she has picked up lately, and some kind of sad ones too.

"Um, actually, no"
"This is AMAZING!!!" (She said this when we took her to the park when Jack was 3 weeks old.)
"It's ok baby Jack Jack." (or "It's ok baby baby boy.")
"I a big sister and I a big girl!"
"It's ok Mommy Mommy (or Daddy Daddy)" (she loves saying things in doubles)
"It was just an accident"
Mom-"Lucy, how do you like you new treat? Is it good? (pudding)" Lucy- "No, it's pretty good!"
"Jack, do you want some company?"
"Close the door Mom, I need my privacy."
"Lions live in Africa!"
"Mommy! I just jumped over the whole state!"
"I have so many sends (translated- friends)"
"I'm so so busy!"
"I need to go to my sends house, ok?"
"Daddy, please put baby Jack in there (his bouncer chair) and hold me (she was crying at the time because I had left her)."
Mom-"Lucy, go get your jammies." Lucy- "No I playing for sive more minutes!"
"Mommy, I can seel my heart!" ("s's" are her "f's")
Guy at the bank-"How old are you?" Lucy- "I two!" Shawn- "Who are you going to see today?" Lucy-" I going on a date!" (see my next post for more info)

That does it for now, she has just been so funny to watch learn some new phrases. We keep laughing at her and asking each other at what point she thinks to herself, yeah, I'm going to use that. She's a good big sister, and so far she's only kicked Jack in the head one time.

Wow!! She is growing up so fast. She is smarter than any two-year old I know. I can't wait to see you and your babies.
