Bierstadt

Shawn, his dad, and two of his brothers hiked Mount Bierstadt, which is 14,060 ft. on July 11th.
They have been wanting to do a 14er all summer, and they had so much fun that they have scheduled the next one for August 15th. We are pretty proud of them for making it to the top, and really happy that they had such a good time. Above is a picture of them just starting the hike.

Shawn and Dave, I think this is at the top, they were the first ones to make it.

Bob and Chris were short to follow, and those boys were so so excited that all of them made it.

At the summit there is a little tub and everyone that makes it up there writes their names on this list and they keep it in the tub to protect it from the elements obviously. All the boys signed it, but honestly, this post would get a little out of control if I put all the pictures up.

Shawn told me Bierstadt is one of the easier 14er's, but they wanted to start with an easy one so they could work their way up. But it looks to me like it came with a couple challenges along the way that required cat like speed and reflexes. Not many people can make a jump like that.

Maybe the best part is that not only did these guys make it to the top, but they made it there and back in one piece! Way to go guys!

Tell! That looks like a really fun hike that Shawn did. And I have to tell you that looking at those pictures of Lucy makes me so excited to put Ashlyn in ballet! We have debates about it within Jared's family (long story-ask me sometime) but she is so adorable! And I can't believe how big she is! Yay for babies and for you, you're amazing:) love ya girl.
